The blahs…

Today I had the blahs…I couldn’t explain it or tell you why.  But seriously, I think I could have just sat and cried for hours and felt good about it, and if you know me at all you know that’s not me.  In reality I should be one of the happiest, most ecstatic people around…I leave in two and a-half days to fly to Ireland to spend time with my brother and his family, The March Gang.  I am totally psyched about this, I still have a lot to do (packing, purchasing last minute items, etc)…but still I’m excited.  I don’t know if it was coming down off the high from last night’s church service (which totally rocked), or the fact that I can be kinda stupid sometimes and allow myself to get into situations that I KNOW have no positive outcome, or that I just needed to have a blah day after all the happiness I’ve had lately.  Our bodies and moods cycle…who knows.  What is so weird is that I’m happy and blah all at the same time…we are funny creatures.

Other than that things are great.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL today, I spent some of my lunch time walking the track by the river and reflecting and talking to God.  It was so pretty outside, I’m more than ready for spring time.

Through it all God is good.  He’s the best thing a person could have, and whatever He will for some of the situations in my life, then so be it.  Selah.

Goodnight…ERM

The Velcro Wall…

Last weekend (March 4-8) was Youth Week at West Point.  I deemed myself a ‘youth’ and attended the Friday night service and the Saturday gym night.  The services were really good, and Rev. Larry Lucas did a tremendous job reaching out to the youth and preaching/ministering on their level.  Friday night he spoke on self-esteem issues, Sunday morning his message was ‘Your Parents are Aliens’, and Sunday night he spoke about compassion.  It as a great weekend.

Now onto the ‘Velcro wall’…that’s what we had at our Saturday night shin-dig, and it was a blast!!!  Along with a slide that went from the gym ceiling to the floor and an adrenaline rush thing that would totally give you your cardio workout for a week all within 5 minutes.  I didn’t feel so bad when the little skinny girls came out huffing and puffin too.  Here’s some pics from the night…Collision ’09 Gym Night.

The March Gang has a new family member…Miley.  She’s a teacup Yorkie, and very adorable and friendly.

Things here are going well.  I’m trying to make my lists and check them twice for my trip next week…I’m afraid that I’ll forget something or not have the right clothing or what-not.  But I’m counting down the days and we have 8 days left…I cannot believe that it’s actually here.

I must get some sleep, or I won’t be worth anything.

Freak Snow storm…and other things

I always get onto my brother for not blogging, of course he does live on a different continent and that is how we keep up with him (other than the few chats that we do every once-in-awhile online)…but still, there may be someone out there that tries to keep up with me via this and so I decided to do a blog. w00t!!  And the villagers rejoiced!

So last weekend (Feb 28) was a little crazy way to say goodbye to the month, with a freak snow storm.  They said flurries and maybe accumulation of up to an inch.  I ended up with anywhere from 4-6 inches (depending on where you were in my yard) and a cancellation of the morning service at church the next day.  Below is a picture of my beautiful snow angel I made (I did it for my friend Karen, I was explaining that it was good to be a kid again every once in awhile and promised a snow angel).

Other things…there are so many.  Sometimes I think I go so I won’t think, then I realize that I’m going all the time and I haven’t stopped to think.  It’s a crazy cycle that.  There is a lot of stuff going on in my life right now, and some decisions that are going to be coming up within the next month or so that will change some things (hopefully and God willing).  But since I’m going day by day right now, it’s on the outskirts of my mind, and I know it’s coming but then I’m almost afraid to hope.

Some really EXCITING news is that I leave for Ireland on March 19.  YEAH!!!!!  I’m so very excited that I will be getting to see my nieces and nephew (you can catch up with their latest at The March Gang).  I’m also really excited about getting to see my brother and sister-in-law too…it’s been a long six months (though I did get Riley for a very ‘short’ weekend in November).  They live in a small village called Donaghcloney, which is where the movie ‘PS I Love You’ was filmed.  I’m going to get to see a real castle and visit Giants Causeway while there.  It’s going to a fun getaway, and I have a travel companion on this trip as well.  The ‘American List’ have started coming in and I will only be allowed on change of clothing because the rest of the space in my suitcases will be taken up with ‘things from America’ that are desperately needed wanted by those in Ireland.  Something fun to look forward to!!!

Well, it’s very well past my bedtime, but I have become something of an insomniac lately and have trouble sleeping.  But none-the-less tomorrow is a work day and I must be off.  Hope everyone has a merry rest of the week!!!
